Ethos
Design week is a unique opportunity for the community to help shape and mould the development of the TMC by having a direct voice at the start of the masterplanning process. There are no preconceptions or pre-agreed designs – we want you to be able to voice your aspirations and register your ideas. This will be a community designed by the community.

What is it?
A series of public events will take place on, or near, the development site in Ketley during the week of November 11th – 15th 2003. These will include workshops, presentations and newsletters to keep everyone informed of progress. More precise details will be available on this website and in the press closer to the time so watch this space!

How does it work?
Design Week will be run by an experienced team of experts from the TMC Partnership who will work closely and intensively with local people on site to develop concepts and plans for all aspects of the development.

A Community Workshop on Tuesday 7th November will be an opportunity for everyone to register their hopes and concerns for the development and contribute ideas for what the scheme should include. This will lead into three days of planning and design workshops attended by members of the recently created Community Group. They will act as your voice during the detailed analysis and planning. Finally, the week will end on Saturday November 11th with a public presentation of the outputs of the workshops and feedback on what was discovered.

How can you get involved?
The public events at the beginning and end of Design Week are your chance to directly register your views and ideas – watch out for updates to this website and notices in the local press with more precise details.

You can also contact the members of the Community Group if you have specific concerns which you would like them to raise on your behalf –
they are your voice in the planning process.

What will it achieve?
Design Week will combine the best ideas from the local community with the professional expertise of the TMC Partnership Team to create a community-inspired development solution within the constraints of the site.
By the end of the week we hope to have a clear idea of the masterplan for the development based on the wants and needs of the community.
