| After extensive consultation a planning application for TMC was submitted to the Borough of Telford and Wrekin during the summer of 2005. The application outlined the overall land use of the development, where the main streets will go, how many houses will be built etc. Outline planning permission was granted later that year.
The outline planning permission states that TMC will deliver:
• Residential development – approximately 700 homes including some affordable housing.
• New Community Centre – enhanced facilities to replace the Parkside Centre
• School – a primary school including facilities for indoor recreation and community facilities
• Business and commercial – provision for small scale office, retail and leisure units
• Open space – large amounts green space will remain after the development, as well as dedicated nature areas, children’s play areas and improved playing fields.
• Infrastructure – all roads, public rights of way, car parking, utilities and drainage for the development
Please use the masterplan link to see a map outlining the key parts of the development.
Reserved Matters
Once outline planning permission has been granted but before building work can begin detailed proposals must be approved by the Council. These detailed proposals are known as reserved matters applications.
The first reserved matters application, for phase one of TMC was approved in July 2006. This will be followed by separate applications before each phase of building.
